Why Work With Me

This isn’t a portfolio page. It’s a bit of context. Because when I take on a project, I want it to mean something—to you and to me.

I’m not here to sell you a service. I’m here to work alongside people I like, on things that matter. That might mean I don’t say yes to everything. But if we connect—and I believe in what you’re building—I’ll bring 25 years of creative experience to the table, and I’ll treat your project with the kind of care I bring to my own.

How I Work Best

The best creative work happens when there’s a solid human connection. I work best with people who are honest, open, and genuinely invested in what they’re building. If I believe in your project—and we work well together—I’ll care about it like it’s my own. That’s what unlocks my best thinking, and my best work.

You don’t need a polished pitch or a perfect brief. You just need to care about your thing. The rest, we figure out together.

A recent project for a local SaaS business—a husband and wife team with an established product—was exactly that. I led a complete brand evolution, from story and tone of voice to design and website, collaborating with trusted partners along the way. It was bold without being brash. Clear without being corporate. Human, through and through.

What You Don’t Get (And Why That’s a Good Thing)

I’m not an agency. You won’t be greeted by a pitch team in blazers or passed off to a junior once the contract’s signed.

I’m a senior creative with over 25 years of experience—and if you work with me, you work with me. That means personalised thinking, direct contact, and no unnecessary layers. I can move faster, go deeper, and flex around your real needs—without the overheads or the formulas.

When needed, I collaborate with trusted partners—developers, animators, writers—and I’m always transparent about who’s involved. If it makes sense for you to work directly with them, even better.

Work That Wakes Me Up

The projects I love tend to fall into two areas:

  • Brand identity and evolution – for small to medium-sized businesses who’ve grown and now want their brand to grow with them.

  • Event branding – from intimate events to multi-day conferences that need a unifying idea and visual presence.

I usually start with the core narrative—who you are, what you stand for, how you want to be seen—and help shape the design, tone, and feel of everything that follows: websites, campaigns, motion, email, whatever’s needed.

A Few Kind Words

“We worked with Gerry on a full rebrand—his strategic thinking, design skill and attention to detail were spot on throughout the process. The feedback on the rebrand has been universally positive, with people commenting on how fresh, clear and confident it feels.”

If This Resonates…

Then let’s talk. There’s no formal pitch process. Just a short, honest conversation to see if we’d work well together.
