Shaping global mindsets through intentional event design
Client Insulet
Project Athina 26 – A 3-day conference in Athens, Greece.
The intent
Insulet had just become market leader in insulin delivery systems.
The challenge was no longer catching up.
It was leading, consistently and globally.
Athina 26, their annual leadership event, brought together 350 senior leaders from nine regions around the globe to a purpose-built event space in Athens.
The objective was to align those regions behind a shared direction for the year ahead.
Not just to celebrate performance, but to shape mindset.
“Gerry, your designs, your ideas, your input, and your incredibly fast responses elevated everything — thank you for being so committed and so collaborative.”
Lupe
International Congress and Events Manager
The approach
The work began with messaging.
In close collaboration with the leadership team, we defined the central messaging pillars that would guide the year ahead. These principles shaped the tone of the keynotes, the structure of presentations and the wider narrative of the event.
The identity system was developed to support that shift.
The venue itself featured extensive marble architecture, which became an opportunity rather than a constraint. Marble-inspired textures were paired with Insulet’s established brand colours to create an identity that felt grounded in its surroundings, while remaining unmistakably Insulet.
A restrained interpretation of Greek typography connected place and purpose without overpowering the corporate brand.
The aim was consistency.
Message and environment needed to reinforce one another.
The system was applied across:
Pre-event communications and event app
Keynote presentations
Motion content
Large-format graphics, including a 23m stage, foyer and breakout environments
I also supported venue scoping and on-site delivery, ensuring the identity adapted as content evolved.
The outcome
Athina 26 created a cohesive event environment that reflected Insulet’s position at the front of its sector.
Senior stakeholders described the visual and messaging system as foundational to the meeting, shaping the tone and supporting alignment across regions.
Why It Mattered
Insulet’s work supports hundreds of thousands of people living with diabetes worldwide. Their products give people greater freedom in managing a chronic condition.
This project was about ensuring the message, environment and moment reflected the responsibility of leading at scale.
“The place looked great, and your visuals were the bedrock we built the whole meeting on. You’ve made a massive difference.”
